July 21-23 | WEMF: World Electronic Music Festival

The Twelfth Annual World Electronic Music Festival
    WEMF 2006
    DESTINY 55

    FRIDAY – SATURDAY – SUNDAY
    July 21-23, 2006
    ONTARIO, CANADA
    www.wemf.com - 416-631-8821

    The 3-Day Experience
The 12th Annual World Electronic Music Festival or simply the “3-Day” as it’s become known over the years, is the 2006 installment of the largest and longest running event of its kind in Canada. With a rich variety of music, artists, performers and music lovers from around the world, it is an experience that is unique and enduring for all those who have made it part of their lives.

It is the 3-Day Experience that we invite you to enjoy once more and potentially one last time. After searching across the province the WEMF collective has chosen a site that will allow it to create an event that is true to the roots of where WEMF came from and what it has become. A remote, forested campground, located on a crystal clear lakefront will bring all the music back outside where it belongs. Camping, dancing, enjoying the company of friends and everything else that the 3-Day Experience allows can only be enhanced by the presence of the sun and the stars!

With this return to nature, we are also transforming the 3-Day Experience to a themed environment that will create a completely new level of connection and interaction with the music, the land and each other. In 2006 all stages will be themed. Travel through the experience by Air, Sea, Land and Space. Travel into your Mind and through Time into the future. We invite those new and old to join us for a completely fresh but quite likely final, 3-Day Experience!

after reading the entire lineup.. its not that bad a little bit of everything.. im pretty letdown with the amount of Hard House tho - and I thought the Trance lineup would be a little more pumping than that

I beleive too much effort was put into this Rock Stage that will in my opinion not get much attention -

Krafty Kuts tho I like ! good job!

yo the looks of it.. it will only be 2 main stages with a 3rd room with alertnating themes.. one theme one night another the 2nd night .. it would be nice to see the Nor'easter Stage way more developped with a longer lineup of locals if anything

but still pretty solid in all

Jeez man... I'm actually pretty pleased with the dnb line-up... What dj's would you rather've seen on it? I know Mampi played last year, along with a lot of the same locals, but Goldie, SS & Grooverider almost never come to play in my area. Will definitely be worth the 12 hour drive - I'm stoked!

Now given the lack of Tact, he has a point (i think) at least form the Destiny Stage side of things... I am not seeing anything spectacular form it.

I go for the Destiny Tent, pure and simple...

01 - Jon the Dentist MADE my weeked, to name 1 performance.
02 - Jon the Dentist AGAIN (AND a close second Vinyl Groover, never seen live before)
03 - Jon The Dentist - (Them seems to be developing)
    04 - Lab4 OMG LAB4!!!!
05 - Rabbit In the MOON, Astral Projection, Jelo/Donald Glaude WOW

This year... Nothing that is sticking out to me.

NOW, to clarify, JUST because i have seen some DJs before does not mean ANYTHING at all. Track change every year. Simple as that, SO the beats will too, AND if the DJ peformed amazing before they will again, simple as that.

SO i am REALLY hoping, and this will be the ONLY thing that could dampen my mood, is if Destiny Stage does not attain its rightful glory as the main stage. If that Rock stage, is THE main stage, and the Destiny stage is just a tent, (Thinking back to how amaizng it looked in 01/02, i will be VERY disappointed and if that is the future of WEMF to come, i would seriously debate going back. I know, in my heart i would, but there would be some serious issues weighing on my mind.

I refuse to have a pre-conceived notion of things to come, for now i will just hold it in my head as the great WEMF it has been each year i go untill WEMF gives me some other reason to change how i feel, I am hooping it does not come to that.

*CHEERS* to come up coming WEMF. May it be as grand, if not better, than all the others. :-)

I would disagree, a HUGE part of the event is the vibe. If it is not good, that means the majority of people are not liking it. Sort of like Morale, it is low when bad stuff is happening, but high when good stuff happens.

Now, i WILL fight the notion that it will be crappy to ANYONE who wants to say so. Personally I think the DJs that i will be seeing will STILL do a great job, no matter what. And i KNOW i will enjoy myself. The fact that the stages are outdoors means that This time, at Tweed, i will be able to breathe. (Asthmatic here). Which is already making me excited. Sides my buddy gets to lite fires, he is REALLY looking forward to that :-P He is a bit deranged :-)

ANYWHO, see you there. AND to finish off, "sike-1" is right, Buy your ticket, so WHAT is you have sene the DJs before, Go, have a great time. If this IS the last WEMF, then you will be sorry you missed it when all your friends come back with sick stories of amazing times.
